I've just finished watching the RNC and Sarah Palin's speech and am thoroughly scared for the future. But let's back up; at the beginning of this whole election business I had a very open mind about the candidates. I lived in Arizona while McCain was governing and so was more familiar with him than Obama. I am by no means a Republican but am not a Democrat either, I prefer to not be defined by parties and think on my own. So, McCain was still an option for me until he announced Palin as his V.P. nominee. I cannot deal with a pro-life, gun-toting beauty queen who wants to drill in the Alaskan wilderness. I am not particularly fond of Obama but the other side is unacceptable.

So, as I'm listening to my Buddhist meditation cd and drinking some chai, I am ready to do whatever is possible to not have my world shattered. I will not have the government tell me what to do with my vagina, I will not allow the environment to be destroyed, and I will not allow guns to be made available to anyone who wants one. What is really disturbing about this campaign is that it is gaining support and is starting to win out against Obama in the polls. How is this possible? How can the average American think that this is a good route for the country? And what scares me even more is that time and time again history has showed us that conservative groups win out in times of crisis. This is what seems to be happening now (outside the Boulder bubble) and it is not okay. So please, talk to anyone you know and tell them to vote in November and to use their brain when doing so.
